SmartHR acquires Crossbit to fold shift scheduling into its workforce stack

SmartHR acquires Crossbit to fold shift scheduling into its workforce stack

Deal at a glance

SmartHR has acquired all shares of Crossbit Co., Ltd., operator of the cloud shift-management platform Rakushift. Crossbit becomes part of the SmartHR Group.

Rakushift is widely adopted by businesses with complex scheduling needs — restaurants, retail chains and multi-location service operators where shifts change constantly.

Strategic fit

The acquisition fills a long-standing gap in SmartHR's workforce stack. Customers will be able to connect employee master data, payroll, and labour management with shift planning without manual CSV exports.

What changes for customers

  • Existing Rakushift contracts continue under SmartHR
  • Roadmap merges with SmartHR's workforce management line
  • Tighter SSO and data sync between the two products is expected within the year
